Our Story

OUR STORY

It all begins with grace. When we tear down everything else and shut out all the noise, this is what we are left with. Who we are, what we’ve become, who we will be is all enveloped in the presence of God’s grace. It is from the ashes of this simple, deconstructed truth that COR church arose.

Our foundation is rooted in the first few words of 1 Corinthians 15:10, “But by the grace of God I am who I am”. We have learned to embrace the notion that this grace must be lived out in our lives, expanding ever-forward to those around us. We hold fast to the belief that the church is not a building,  but it is and always has remained, a people. Church is outward facing and happens whenever and wherever we allow it to happen.

Accordingly, we are committed to investing into our local communities.  With all that God has given to us, we are resolute in our conviction to give locally in all aspects of our lives: our finances, our time, our energy, and our resources.

Building upon this foundation, we have had the privilege of giving back this past year. In the abundance God has given us and flowing through the generosity of COR church, we have been able to contribute to causes and organizations in our own backyard. We are committed to give away 80% of our annual total income every year. In 2021, we contributed to Rescue Freedom (Kirkland), The Sophia House (Bellevue), and Evergreen Health (Kirkland).
